The story behind 53S Beauty
53S Beauty was started by makeup artist Shruti Shah with one simple belief. Beauty should feel as good as it looks.
What began as a fix for her own clients is now a small Indian beauty brand making lashes, lip colour and blush for women who want to look like themselves, only a little more confident.
It started in the makeup chair
For more than ten years, Shruti has done makeup for brides, shoots and women getting ready for the biggest days of their lives. Somewhere between all those looks, she kept hearing the same complaints. The lashes felt heavy. They needed trimming. By evening, they were the first thing to come off.
So she set out to make her own. She wanted lashes that felt weightless, looked completely natural and suited every woman who sat in her chair, from brides to busy professionals.
That first pair grew into the Muse Collection, five real hair lashes on a clear band, and it is still the heart of everything we make.
What our name means
53S is personal. The 5 and the 3 are Shruti’s birth month and date, and the S is her initial. Each part also carries a meaning we try to live up to.

Why we chose blue
Beauty brands often reach for loud, bright colours. We went the other way. Blue stands for calm confidence, trust and an elegance that never goes out of style.
It reflects how we see beauty. It doesn’t need to shout to be remembered. You’ll find that same blue on every box we send, a small reminder that confidence can be gentle and powerful at once.
